Temporary school boarding houses in Helsinge
This modular construction served as accommodation for students at the Gribskov High School in Helsinge. The project consisted of five 2-storey, modular houses which contained a total of 30 apartments. The prefabricated modules were put together and placed in a half-circle around a natural calm and relaxing zone for the students. Each module, made from steel frames and wooden walls, contained two 18 m² apartments with kitchens, toilets and bathrooms.
The buildings were only meant for temporary use, although they can have a longer and environmentally-friendly working life. They can be used for over 40 years and can be reused or recycled – as can the under-lying ground screws.
